Countdown to Final Four: Texas Western was tops in '66

On this day in 1966, the Texas Western Miners of coach Don Haskins became the first, and thus far, only Texas college team to win the NCAA Division I championship, defeating the Kentucky Wildcats of coach Adolph Rupp 72-65 at Cole Field House in College Park, Md.
